Quality and safety

BESTO Redding devotes a great deal of attention to the quality and safety of its products. So it’s no surprise that BESTO vests satisfy many of the very highest quality standards and are approved by well known inspection services such as TNO Holland and Fleetwood Testing Laboratory(UK).
BESTO also works according to an exhaustive quality system approved by the superintendent of certificates and approvals, Bureau Veritas. A major part of this quality system is the Entry Check on both raw materials and finished products. For this, we employ a number of special procedures:

  • Before processing, raw materials are thoroughly checked to guarantee the best possible quality.
  • During the production process, finished products are monitored rigorously. Once the finished product has been manufactured, the quality-control department checks it against the correct production procedure based on the Entry Check.
  • The last check consists of a buoyancy test in which each individual vest is examined to see if it actually satisfies the buoyancy requirements set for it.
  • Only when the finished product has been approved by the quality-control department it can be stored in the warehouse, prior to delivery to our selected distributors.

Buoyancy aid and lifejackets fall into 3 main categories:

Below you will find a summary of the different approval systems as used for the above categories.

Vests for leisure use can be divided into a number of categories based on their buoyancy. Buoyancy is measured in Newtons and is indicated below by the letter N.
